At Steven Lee Academy we specialise in the online private tuition of Maths and Science subjects for HSC and IB high school students. Our lessons are delivered either one-to-one or in small, personalised groups of 2 to 4 students, and are tailored to our students' individual needs. We also cater to primary school students and tertiary entrance students.
Our mission is to be the most effective and successful personalised Maths and Science private tuition facility for High School students in Australia. We strive to provide a learning environment where our students undergo the most dramatic improvement in academic performance and grades in the shortest time, and achieve top level bands in their target subjects.
We believe that learning shouldn't be painful or stressful, but rather fun and fulfilling. Students learn faster and more effectively with interest and passion than through pressure to succeed. Our focus is on the development of smart and successful, yet also happy, emotionally and socially well-adjusted students, not on the creation of academic robots.
Our Philosophy
It's an inescapable fact that competition for both university positions and top-level jobs is skyrocketing in Australia. Data from the Education Department shows that most universities have seen double-digit growth since places started to be uncapped in 2010.
More people are enrolling into our universities than ever before. More highly-motivated students are coming from overseas, with far more hinging on their success than local students do. As a result, local students are realising that they can't be complacent, and that they must study and work harder than ever to keep up.
Because of this ever-increasing level of competition, private tutoring has become vitally important for students this decade.
Even so, we don't believe that the key to success amongst all this competition is to continue putting more and more pressure on students. Lessons need to be learned from the examples of South Korea and Japan. This hard, uncompromising approach simply isn't the answer. There is a smarter, better and more effective way.
One that doesn't destroy students' health.
By combining the "hard" and "soft" approaches to education, we achieve a way that is uniquely strong as it is effective in the real world.

Backed by 24 years of tutoring experience, coupled with a plethora of academic qualifications, Steven Lee is able to coax every ounce of potential from his students through his fun and engaging lessons. As a result they develop a keen passion for learning and quickly excel at school and in exams.
Students receive extensive and thorough coaching and guidance on how to excel in their school and state exams. This extends beyond the obvious preparation by working through past exam papers, and includes an effective exam preparation timetable.
We're able to assess students' strengths and weaknesses and advise their school if it would be appropriate for them to study a subject at an accelerated level. In this case we would also give an assurance to the school that the student would be able to perform well at that level with our guidance and tuition.
Students are given guidance and advice regarding subject and study choices for their HSC year, so that they have the best and smoothest possible entry into their chosen tertiary studies.
With Gloria's background in psychology and her positive, motivational nature, she can provide any necessary support and guidance to students needing help with self-esteem, self-motivation, developing a positive mindset, building mental strength, goal-setting, career decisions, and so on.

It's a shame that many educational institutions haven't yet caught on to this concept as well. Nothing will drive a student to excel faster than an inner confidence and desire to learn.
